These Terms of Service govern your use of Duolingo AI Tutor, a Chrome extension and related backend service that provides on-demand AI explanations for Duolingo exercises.

Service Description

Duolingo AI Tutor helps users understand language-learning exercises by generating explanations after the user clicks the explanation button. The service is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Duolingo.

Accounts

You may need to sign in with Google to use account-based usage limits, paid plans, and subscription features. You are responsible for keeping your account access secure and for all activity under your account.

Plans and Pricing

Duolingo AI Tutor offers the following plans:

• Beta: $0 per month, 10 AI explanations per day.
• Pro: $4.99 per month, 50 AI explanations per day.
• Max: $9.99 per month, 100 AI explanations per day.

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly unless cancelled. Prices may change in the future, but changes will not apply retroactively to an already paid billing period.

Payments, Cancellation, and Refunds

Payments and subscription management are handled by Creem. You can manage or cancel your subscription from the extension settings page when subscription management is available. Cancellation stops future renewal but does not automatically refund an already paid period.

Refund requests and billing questions can be sent to ahchenxi2008@gmail.com. Refund eligibility may depend on payment processor rules, local law, and service usage.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to abuse, reverse engineer, overload, resell, or interfere with the service. You also agree not to use the service for unlawful purposes or to submit content that infringes the rights of others.

AI Output

AI-generated explanations may be incomplete or incorrect. The service is provided as a learning aid and should not be treated as guaranteed educational, professional, legal, financial, or medical advice.

Availability

We aim to keep the service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Features may change as the extension, model provider, Chrome platform, Duolingo website, or payment provider changes.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if a user violates these Terms, abuses the service, causes security risk, or uses the service in a way that harms other users or the operation of the product.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Duolingo AI Tutor is provided as is and without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service.
